Horse/Pony of the month

The horse/pony of the month is...*drumroll*...Oliver!!! The reason we have chosen Oliver for the pony of the month is because he was the first foal to be born at Scattered Acres Equestrians and is now a school horse in training. Another reason we chose Oliver is because his birthday is in the month of May. Oliver will be 4 years old. His training is going great. Just a few months ago Oliver went to his first show! Ridden by Julia Gruber, they went in the show ring un-judged and did fabulous! Oliver has a sweet personality and an amazing trainer. Congrats to Oliver!

New Shelter - Monthly Update on Bubbles and Puff

Bubbles is back to her young, spunky self and has given her feisty character to her son, Puff. Puff is growing quickly and still nipping. He still has the beautiful palamino color that we're hoping he'll keep but he'll probably look just like his half-brother, Oliver. Bubbles and Puff now have a shelter in their pasture where their hay and water is. It's a medium-sized sturdy covering with no walls but provides shade from the heat and cool, refreshing water.

Results of the Lashjuf Horse Show

BIG congrats to Elizabeth Campbell and Junior for placing 1st, 2 5ths and a 6th!! and Congrats to Julia Gruber and Kahlua for getting reserve champion!! You guys did AMAZING!

Rememberance Horse/Pony of the Month

The Rememberance Horse/Pony of the Month is Bugsby!!!! Bugsby (known as Abominable Snowman in the showring) was a registered POA gelding with possible Shetland breeding. He was a little bit smaller than Willie, probably between Willie and Tina's height. He was adorable and he knew it. He was an amazing jumper, when he decided to jump. He was shown extensively by Elizabeth Campbell at Just a Bit, Marion County Saddle Club, Sumter, HITS and many other show circuits, and by other riders. He was sold after competing at HITS Ocala Winter Circuit, 2006, to a barn in Tennessee that had travelled to Florida to show. He had been best friends with Willie and Lacy(also the only horse to be dominant over Willie) for many, many years and Willie has never been the same since Bugsby left. As stubborn, ornery and as many crops as we broke on him, he is missed dearly by all riders and barn-moms who knew him. We loved him very, very much, and hope to one day locate and bring him home. Bugsby is the most deserving, living equine, for the Rememberance Pony of the Month. He is amazing. We love you Bugsby!!!

Pony of the Month!

April's pony of the month goes to.......*drumroll*....... BUBBLES!!!! Congrats to the mother of Puff's Magic Dragon! Bubbles has been selected to be Pony of the Month because she has a lot to deal with. She has a feisty young colt to care for and that's a big roll for a little pony! We admire her courage and bravery to protect her foal no matter what. Even when times get tough for her, we know that Bubbles will never give up and will keep striving to get to the top of the mountain! Congratulations Bubbles!!!

Monthly Update on Bubbles and Puff

Puff's Magic Dragon is 6 weeks old today!! He's getting SOOO big and feisty! He's got an amazing personality and loves to show off to the other girls and Junior, his new neighbor. Puff ate grain for the first time on Friday! He's growing up so fast!!

WARNING! SAE ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

ATTENTION ALL SCATTERED ACRES EQUESTRIANS RIDERS, WORKERS, AND PARENTS!! Today, (April 11th, 2010) A Coral snake was found in the stall in pasture 6. Coral snake's are the second most venomous snakes in the world! They can commonly be mistaken by King snakes and Garden Snakes. Coral snakes have black bodies and heads with yellow and red patterns on their bodies. They don't bite horses and people unless you pick them up but PLEASE if you see one of these snakes don't get near it go tell someone immediately! Thank you!

Update on Bubbles and Puff

Bubbles and Puff are doing great! Puff will be three weeks old this Sunday. Bubbles is slowly becoming more comfortable with humans around her baby but just like any mother she is very protective. Puff loves the attention. He's very nippy because he's teething but is the sweetest little thing.

Pony of the month

The pony of the month is *drumroll* . . . . Bugs!!!! I chose Bugs because he is so sweet despite the fact that he is blind and part deaf. He trusts everyone totally and loves everyone. Bugs is sweet and caring and deserved WAY more attention. When you get to know him, you'll love him! Congratulations Bugs on being pony of the month!!!

Update on Bubbles

Puff's Magic Dragon has been born!!!! Bubbles is very nervous and protective of her baby but he is beautiful!!!! The birth went very well. No one new about it until long ofter the birth. But the long wait for the baby's arrival was worth it because he's amazing! Puff is a cremello/palamino but will probably turn gray like his like Oliver did. Picture below.

Rememberance Horse/pony of the month!

Rememberance horse/pony of the month is where ever month I post about a different horse that has been at Scattered Acres Equestrians in the past that either passed away, was sold, or their owner simply stopped boarding them at SAE. We celebrate and share our memories together with that special horse. This month's Rememberance horse is Cloud! Cloud was a 25-year-old white gelding when he was put down. :( Cloud had cancer. I remember grooming him several times and he was very laid-back and friendly. There were some great memories behind Cloud!

Pony of the month

The pony that will be awarded "Pony of the Month" is...*drumroll*... Tinkerbell!!! Congrats Tinkerbell! The reason we have picked Tinkerbell is because she is a funny pony with a great personality. Tinkerbell likes to rip the fly masks off of the gate one-by-one so we recently had to start putting them in the blanket box. Tinkerbell has also attempted taking the flymasks off of the other ponies in her pasture and succeeded. Tinkerbell does a great job entertaining herself. Who knows what she'll do next!

Update on Bubbles

Bubbles is due to have her baby in two months. There is question about whether she is pregnant or not because she has lost a lot of weight although some people say they have felt and/or seen the baby move. All we can do is pray and hope that everything goes smoothly.
